Description of Appearance for Human and Animal Counterpart
Golden eyes and dark hair, tanned skin, laced with pale scars (though few are very obvious). Somewhat scruffy looking, even when dressed neatly. Has a hard, cold look and a very intense gaze that tends to intimidate others. He moves easily, but quietly, with a wary predatory walk. He tends to wear loose fitting clothing with a sword strapped to his side and a number of knives and daggers concealed throughout his clothing.
History
Jarad grew up on the streets, where he begged and stole to survive. When he was old enough, he managed to find work on board of a ship. He lived as a sailor and pirate for several years until joining the rebellion. He already knew the basics of fighting, but over several years, his skills were honed--especially with the sword. Life went well with the rebels. For once he felt that he had a sort of family. After a failed attack against the government, though, Jarad found himself imprisoned. Several years later, heavily scarred in mind and body, he took to life as a mercenary. He met up with Kaye, and together they started Nightfall.
Education
The sort that street kids get: avoid being beaten, and grab what you can, while you can. He learned something of reading and writing while aboard ship, and his knowledge was considerably broadened when he lived with the rebels. Jarad also has other, unusual types of knowledge. Some come from his animal counterpart, such as being able to read and sense the weather and the air currents (this makes him a good weather forecaster).
Occupation
Mercenary, Second to Kaye; leader of the band Nightfall
Political Affiliation
None
Current Home
Wherever Nightfall is.
Description of Personality
Jarad seems to have picked up all of the fierce, predatory instincts of the hawk, while missing all of the lighter aspects. Maybe it was growing up on the streets that honed his darker side. Could be the missing years of his life spent in prison that he never speaks of. At any rate, it's hard to say if anyone truly knows him. Threatening in a cold, distant way, Jarad largely keeps to himself. One odd quirk he has is that he likes children, and much of the hardness about him falls away when he's around kids. Outside of that, he's more apt to strike out than to give a friendly nod. He has little patience for most people, preferring to keep to himself.
Personal Premise/Ambition/Motto
The dead tell no tales.
