Character Name: Willow
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Element: Night
Animal: Wolf
Height for Human and Animal Counterpart: 5’10’’ for human and 40 inches at the shoulder for wolf.
Description of Appearance for Human and Animal Counterpart: As a human, Willow has quite fair skin, although she can get a slight burn that turns into a tan if she’s out in the sun a lot. She could be classed as beautiful, but it’s a rough, well-worn beauty, as if she’s seen too much to fit into her seventeen years. Her She has very dark, almost black knee-length hair with a single, natural crimson lock in her fringe (or bang, whichever you call it). She has deep green eyes that stay with her when she transforms into her wolf form. She has a lithe, almost predatory walk that for some reason is more cat-like than canine. Willow also has a rather proud tilt to her head, not arrogant, but confidant in who she is and her own abilities. She has a large tattoo on her left shoulderblade; a leopard lying down but with its head up, and a hawk on its shoulder, caught in the act of landing. The leopard's tail and a stray feather of the hawk's rest on her left upper arm.
Numerous small white scars marr her body, but four in particular stand out, being a more noticeable pinkish-white; a relatively large oval marking on each large left rib. Two, less obvious scar lies between the third and fourth, one a short, slim line, obviously a stab wound that is mirrored on her back, the other a surgical scar running alongside her unusual rib scars. These marks are usually covered by either lightweight leather or buckskin tunics, accompanied by similarly made trousers and leathers boots, or a white, dull leather cat suit with a number of pockets. She also wears a thin gold ring set with seven clear stones on her right ring finger.
As a wolf, her high head and tail would indicate a high ranking, if not the Alphess. She’s a relatively normal colour; a mish-mash of grey, brown, black and white, but her more distinctive markings are a black line of fur running from her head (which is black fading to a grey-silver) to her tail, solid grey paws and muzzle, two little black comet shapes above her green eyes, and a streak of red on her ear and neck. Her scars are mainly hidden by her thick fur.
History: She was found at the age of 7 wandering around a forest on the edge of a cliff in the Kanat Highlands, blind and with no personal memories; she could remember sounds, smells, textures etc, but no memories specifically pertaining to her. So she invented a new name after finding another person around her age who lived nearby, who could tell her what was around her. Her surroundings included a willow tree they were sat under, and so that became her name. She liked winter for some reason, and so chose the first of the last month to celebrate her birthday. She went with the boy who’d found her to his home, and made it her home. When she was knocked unconscious by a rock fall at age 12 it restored her sight, confirming her suspicion that she'd lost it in a similar way. After roughly that age, Willow doesn’t freely discuss her past, and is infuriatingly vague when she does, all in order to protect those that are still there. One of the few things she will say is that they were a fighting village, and she learnt the art of battle with both many weapons of her bare hands. Now at age 17, she's a deadly fighter who can be surrounded by enemies in a pitch-black room and come out victorious, albeit missing a fair portion of blood. Her weakness tends to be the desire to protect her friends, regardless of the risk to her own life. She's by no means the perfect fighter, and has ended up with near-fatal wounds on more than one occasion. And still has the scars to prove it. She's used to large battles and siege situations, and often looks back on the memories with amusement, after being sent out on various assignments by the people who took her in. She has currently left her childhood home and is searching for someone she used to know, who is proving ridiculously difficult to trace.
Education: While the majority of Willow’s education was how to fight, defend against, trick, kill, spy etc upon others, she was also educated academically as well as any high-class member of society, although the finer details that wouldn’t be necessary in her rough life were skipped or bunked off from. This included dancing, until the class graduation came up and they all had to dance. After that, she learnt how to...sharpish.
Occupation: A free sword maiden/mercenary/spy/general fighting person that is occasionally for hire when she runs out of bribe money or when there is something in it for her.
Political Affiliation: Willow has a neutral standing, although she’s leaning more towards the rebels side of things, although that is two-thirds agreeing with them and one-third pure thrill-seeking/risk-taking.
Current Home: She currently doesn’t have one; she lives entirely off the earth and whatever it provides. She eats when she wants, and sleeps under the stars every night.
Description of Personality: Tough-talking, and doesn't hesitate to back up her harsh words with weapons or fists. Oddly enough, she seems to end up being friends with people she threatens to, or does, punch/kick/generally attack. She's got a slight mother-hen attitude towards kids and people who can't defend themselves, and tends to be a general mother-figure to people around her.........unless she's fighting them, of course. Gentle when with her friends, as vicious as a devil when fighting a serious opponent, she's definitely a person you'd want on your side of an arguement. Unless you are extremely powerful, dumb, or have a death wish. Thanks to ten years training, she can be extremely sneaky when she wants to, and has completed many assassination missions in her time. She's very fond of taunting anyone she dislikes or is fighting, which has often earned her an additional few blows to the head. Yet she always insists that they never have caused her any mental harm, even as she's getting ready to take on an entire bar full of drunk people just itching for a scrap...
While she may be a rather violent, sometimes cold and distant individual, she knows her version of right and wrong; killing an innocent is wrong, killing someone who is planning or trying to kill you is right. Spying is usually acceptable, if the person deserves it or Willow is being paid a good amount of money that will go towards something she needs etc
Despite her naturally good, kind core, she puts on a good act of having few scruples when required, and is actually quite a good actress when she has to be. Also despite her good, kind heart is a rather black sense of humour and a love for practical jokes, that usually involved other people being at the receiving end of her said pranks. She’s a fun-lover, really, although her view of ‘fun’ is most other people’s view of ‘dangerous’...
Personal Premise/Ambition/Motto: It's not the dead you have to fear; but the living.
