Human: Tall and elegant; very stern; coldly beautiful; dark brown hair that hangs in soft thick waves; dark almost black eyes and light brown skin; long elegant hands; sensuous; somewhat intimidating; medium weight—not too thin
Animal: Tall and elegant; deep mahogany bay with a bold white stripe down the face, a white sock on the right hind leg and a coronet (white band) around the left foreleg.
Adina knows she is elegant and beautiful and she uses that to her advantage. She tends to be condescending of those she considers less than herself, and that shows in her (often) arrogantly tilted head and bored expression. She knows that she holds the power to the world and the only existing Stone, and so carries herself accordingly: with confidence and pride.
History: Adina’s mother was a horse/earth shape-shifter herself, so it was no surprise when she was born that she was also an earth/horse. Her father was a wolf and often cruel and abusive to Adina, while her mother was too engrossed by her own beauty to notice anyone else. Adina learned to survive on her own…and even how to flourish…in a way. She was only fifteen when the Emperor decided on her as his wife. Being both beautiful, elegant, rich, sophisticated, and most importantly, an earth shape-shifter, Adina was the perfect candidate for Empress. Or so everyone told her. For herself, Adina was simply relived to be able to leave her home and her parents behind. She was married two years later, at seventeen. She adjusted quickly to life in the palace—after all, she was used to having people fawn over her. Learning how to play political games was only a little harder. She already had years of experience manipulating and backbiting girls at private schools, so court wasn’t too strange. Fifteen years later, Adina is still enjoying gossiping with the court ladies and flirting with the gentleman.
Education: Adina was educated well, by a combination of private tutors and private schools. To be perfectly honest, she hated every moment of it, but her parents insisted that she have the best education…and that she maintain perfect grades. In school, she quickly established herself as a leader, coolly choosing the girls who were “in” and those who were “out.” Her only enjoyment of school came from her friends…or more accurately, gossiping with her friends. Her mother was very obsessed with being beautiful and dressed “right” and Adina picked up on this. As an older girl, she learned to be perfectly proper and polite from her mother…and to insult others while doing so. In fact, Adina learned she was quite good at this. Sadly, the targets for her jibes more often than not didn’t understand Adina’s carefully worded mockery, thinking her a “sweet, polite girl.” When the Emperor decided on Adina as his wife, she learned everything she could about the Stone and ruling the land. By then, of course, she was already well educated on politics and diplomacy. She has only strengthened that knowledge with time.
Occupation: Empress of Rhyallia
Political Affiliation: Her own. Oh, wait, no. She is concerned for the people of Rhyallia, of course, and believes strongly in the importance of the ruling class. In other words, she’s a monarchist. She’s also strongly against the rebels (they definitely ought to be brought down—arrogant commoners).
Current Home:
Description of Personality: Coldly calculating; very intelligent (she considers herself to be much more intelligent than her husband, the Emperor); she espouses wisdom and virtuousness, but those who know her know that she is cold woman, set only on her own goals. She would easily trample those less than herself for her own goals and desires. She is practical and sharp, picking up quickly on the small details. She is a very patient woman—probably her only real virtue—and she can wait years to take her revenge or complete her own personal goals. Though not easily frustrated, she does hold a long memory of past grudges. She thinks things through carefully before coming to a decision. She fears nothing (why should she? she holds the power of the only existing Stone)…except perhaps losing her power or being replaced by the Emperor.
Personal Premise/Ambition/Motto: Entertain me, but don’t make demands of me.
