Description of Appearance for Human and Animal Counterpart:
Zared has a mop of auburn colored hair with large black eyes. He has a pointy chin and is trying to look older by growing a goatee. Currently, however, it is a scrawny looking goatee. People tend to think of Zared as “cute.” He doesn’t want to look cute, though (he wants to be a respectable thief), and so is determined to grow his bit of chin hair. Zared has a bold, almost arrogant walk. He loves to do random flips and jumps, showing off for friend and foe alike. He likes to think he has a certain flair and bold confidence.
As a squirrel, he is auburn brown with gray stripes. He has stretched skin between his legs that allows him to glide from treetop to treetop…or building top to building top. He also has a somewhat flat and fluffy tail. He likes to practice his aerial flips in the air as he glides and leaps.
History: Zared grew up in a large family. His parents aren’t rich, but have done a good business in thieving and then reselling at their pawnshop. His parents are very respectable thieves with a very respectable pawnshop. Sometimes people even have to buy their own stuff back. Zared has several siblings, and together they would terrorize the neighborhood. But now Zared is older and has moved on. More accurately, he has been thrown out by his parents for stealing from them. His parents, however, are very proud of Zared and the fact that they’ve taught him well.
Education: Zared was trained in the art of thievery by his parents. He went to school when he was young, but he talked too much. When supplies started disappearing from the other students’ desks, he was kicked out. He then received some home schooling from his parents. After all, a good thief has to have some business knowledge.
Occupation: Thief
Political Affiliation: Monarchist. The Thieves Guild of Tannoch is quite happy with the current political situation—after all, it provides them with rich people to thieve from, so why change things? Personally, Zared is intrigued by the rebels, but having never met one, he’s no more than idly curious.
Current Home: He lives with some of his friends in the capital city of Tannoch.
Description of Personality:
Over-confident, free spirited. He loves to do things simply for the thrill of it. He loves that momentary high that comes from challenging death and spitting in its face. Or at least flying over its face. He’s a respectable thief, so he has his standards. He’s part of the Tannoch Thieving Guild, and abides rigorously by their rules—including the fact that only Tannoch Guild Thieves can steal in Tannoch. The thing that irritates Zared? Girl trouble. He has a specific girl that he’s definitely attracted to. Beautiful, graceful…a gazelle shape-shifter…However, she’s not the least bit interested in a flying squirrel. Unfortunately, a mousy girl is also following him around and trying to get his attention. But who wants a mouse for a girl friend? Definitely girl trouble.
