Character Name: Kaye
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Element: Night
Animal: Snow Leopard
Height for Human and Animal Counterpart
Human: 5’ 4”
Animal: 2' at the shoulder
Description of Appearance (eye color, hair color, posture, general appearance, etc) for Human and Animal Counterpart: Kaye is lean and hard-eyed. She has large dark blue eyes with slitted pupils (even when she’s in human form) and dark hair. Her skin is unusually pale. She’s tough—physically and emotionally. Kaye will challenge anyone to a fight—and probably win. As a cat, Kaye is medium-sized with solid limbs and a lean, tough body. Her fur is thick and shaggy with large gray and black spots on a white background. Stripes like a tiger’s run back from her eyes across her forehead and on the sides of her face. Kaye has the look of a fighter—a slightly dangerous look that makes most people think twice about challenging her. She might be pretty, but her rough clothes and hard eyes turn people off. She has a definite presence and confidence about her.
History: Kaye grew up with her mom until she was about 9 years old. At that time, her mom became sick and eventually died. Her father was a rebel and was killed by fighting between the rebels and the Rhyallian army when Kaye was an infant. Kaye left her small home village for the city after her mother’s death. Being an orphan, and unable to take up a job, Kaye fell in with other street children and became a thief. That lasted only for a short while, when she met a hunter. Kaye was immediately attracted to the idea of traveling the world without needing anyone else. She followed the hunter out of the city and demanded to come with him. The hunter refused to take her, but Kaye was determined and followed him anyway. Eventually, he grudgingly accepted both Kaye and her attempts at help and trained her in the basics of survival and fighting. Kaye was tough and learned it all. Eventually, Kaye settled for a time in another city, where she fell in with a group of thieves. She learned more skills from them, but it was also a bad time for her. She eventually escaped from them and moved to the coast, where she was first hired as a bodyguard for a rich lord. From then on, Kaye’s fate was sealed.
Education: Kaye learned the basics of reading and writing as a child, but she left school when she was nine. After that, she developed quick wits and quicker fingers to survive on the streets. Her real training began with the hunter, when she learned to track and hunt and survive anything on her own. She also learned to use her fists and any weapon close to hand to fight with. The demands of the thieves’ gang forced her to become the best fighter, the stealthiest, the fittest, and the toughest, just to survive. Though she was never actually the best among them, her skills and endurance increased considerably.
Occupation: Mercenary; Captain of a band of mercenaries
Political Affiliation: She recently received an offer from the rebel forces and is deciding whether or not to join them. She works for pay, so her political alliances change based on whose paying her. What her own personal political beliefs are, she is careful never to reveal.
Current Home: Currently, Kaye and her band have set up camp in the mountains outside of Ashata. Since she is considering taking up with the rebels, Kaye is keeping her small band out of sight.
Description of Personality (characteristics, moral standards, abilities, frustrations, temperament, etc): Kaye’s morals are dictated by money. If the offer is good enough, she’ll do it. Assassin, spy, she’s done a little bit of everything. Currently, she’s managed to bring together a small band of other mercenaries, and so far, that’s her favorite job. Internally, Kaye has a sense of what’s right and wrong, but she usually ignores it, just as she ignores her emotions. Most people might call this denial, Kaye prefers to think of herself as cautious and wise. Kaye is quick and clever, as skilled with a weapon as with her wits. She’ll gladly exchange a sharp retort and a round of verbal sparring with someone. She’s confident in herself and her skills, and she exudes this to others. She can be very demanding of those under her, but is also surprisingly encouraging and (usually) a good leader. Usually very cautious, she has an even, calm temperment.
Personal Premise/Ambition/Motto (write as a one-sentence “I” statement, please): You’ll never know who I am.
